Helps yourself while helping someone in need
AN OPEN LETTER FROM OUR MANAGING DIRECTOR, JONATHAN LOCKHART
Every day people throughout Scotland go unnecessarily hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income to the breakup of a marriage. A simple box of food makes a big difference, with foodbanks helping prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown and mental health problems.
I personally don’t think anyone should have to face going hungry, especially over the festive period when most of us will be complaining that we ate too much! I think it is so sad that there is a need to have any foodbanks anywhere in Scotland. Now there is an actual need throughout Scotland to have foodbanks in place to offer a vital lifeline to make sure than those who need it have the chance to have food for themselves and their children.
It is not just about donating a bag of pasta or a tin of beans. There are children who won’t get a selection box at Christmas or have a hot meal at home during the school holidays. There are babies who won’t have enough nappies to keep them clean and happy. No-one wants to have to use a foodbank, but it is vital for so many people now.
The Trussell Trust says that donations are absolutely vital to their ability to give everyone referred to it a balanced and nutritious three day supply of food.
I started PPI Claims Scotland because I wanted to help as many people as possible get back what was wrongly taken from them by their banks, either by being mis-led or mis-informed about Payment Protection Insurance. So far, I have helped put £1,406,501.93 back into the pockets of people throughout Scotland. That is not enough. There are still thousands of people throughout Scotland who need a little bit of help in other areas.
That is why I will personally be donating £10 worth of food and baby care products for every customer who signs up to reclaim their PPI with my company and returns their documents to us by 1 December 2017. My target is to have 100 people sign up and return their documents so I can donate £1,000 worth of goods to help those in need. Me and PPI Claims Scotland regularly make charitable donations throughout the year but I always make a donation to a local foodbank at this time of year.
Using PPI Claims Scotland to reclaim your mis-sold PPI may help you get £1,000’s in your own pocket while helping someone in need have a hot meal and not go hungry over the festive period. We will also give the first 100 people who sign up to use our service and return their documents before 1 December 2017 a £10 Marks & Spencer’s voucher. This can be used towards your Christmas dinner or you can use it to buy some food and donate it to the foodbank.
You can help by starting your claim now using our online form or calling us on 0333 5771107. We can also arrange a home visit in selected areas if you prefer a face-to face approach.
